Saracen Estates...

There’s a winery just north of Margaret River, Western Australia, that has been developed with no expense spared. It’s called Saracen Estates, and whether or not you like its wines, Duckstein Brewery, German-style café, or its architecture, you’ve got to be impressed by its audacity and flair. The place has landed on the south-west sub-region of Willyabrup as a fully-formed idea, with distinctive vision and aristocratic scale. While stone walls, timber walkways and expansive use of glass appear refined and elegant, the open-plan cellar door area with merchandising points, modern eatery overlooking a lake-size dam, statuary of Saracens atop mighty steeds and multiple reflective lily ponds are pure Hollywood. But does the glamour overpower the product?
