A pinch & a punch for
The 1st of the month!

Until he departed -
Leaving a scribbled solong -
We used to try to beat
One another to the punch
Month after month via
Feisty e-mails

He’d wax triumphant
Whenever he won
Gloating over his
Calendric consciousness -
Sneakily aided by a 2 hour advantage
Over my time zone

If I was slick enough to beat him
He’d sulk for a second (boys hate losing)
Before throwing back a clever trick
Of a line acknowledging my slick move

This sibling playfulness is much missed today
The 1st of August
Ten months since he died

He’s left me e-punch-less, remembering.
